Oasis Biblos ’24 (Octatanz Birthday) Crotone Edition

This year is our 40th anniversary, and it’s the perfect excuse for all of us to meet. We almost gave up on finding the right spot because we struggled to find a place with the right weather and infrastructure, but after considering some options in different countries, we scored a goal at the very last minute. In the end, for one reason or another, we couldn’t leave Italy, but we are very happy with the option we have.

We found a beautiful place close to Crotone town in Calabria, where Pythagoras founded his philosophical school and where his followers, the ‘mathematikoi’ settled. It is the San Paolo Camping on the beach! You can still enjoy the summer weather in southern ItalyI mid-October. We all can stay in the bungalows for just 10 euros per night. If you prefer solitude, you can camp in the tent as well. Tent is also 10 Eur but 2 people can use one tent. You have to bring your tent, they don’t have tents for the rental. Each bungalow is equipped with a kitchen, shower and toilet. As well, we will be arranging food for extra payment in the common cafe place. The whole camping place will be for us!

Just like last year, the idea is to have a relaxed, unhurried vacation where we can chat, enjoy concerts, dance, swim, savour good food… this year with a bit more comfort, since we all became a year older.

The camping also has volleyball, ping pong and more activities to enjoy. We are sure the area has many authentic nature monuments to see and places of interest worth visiting.

We would love everyone to join, but we understand the notice is late and some of you might already have plans. This place looks amazing, and we’ll keep you posted on the lineup. To do that, we have to know who and how many people are coming. We should figure it out as soon as possible. We’ll be available to answer all your questions over the next few days, so let’s try get your answer effectively. Remember, the official dates are from 10th to 15th of October. We’d love for you to be there the whole time, but if that’s not possible, come for as long as you can. As well there is no problem if you would arrive a day earlier and leave one or two days later than official dates of the event.
